Wyler Art Studio News: June 2007

On June 16th, Kris Wyler and the Watercolor Wizards of Stark County, Ohio will be making a presentation to the Alliance Art Club.  The Watercolor Wizards are (left to right: Lynn Weinstein, Mary Titus, Nancy Stewart-Matin, Gail Wetherell-Sack, and Kristine Wyler.  Each artist will show two paintings and discuss her approach to creating watercolor paintings.
 

Navajo, watercolor by Kristine WylerNavajo is Kristine Wyler's newest watercolor painting, one of a series depicting American Indians.  Kristine's grand-father, John Jacob Wyler, emigrated to the United States from Switzerland in the 1800s, and lived with Plains and Western tribes, prior to moving to Akron, Ohio.

Kristine Wyler's paintings are currently on display in Kent State Stark Campus's Gallery 6000: Watercolor Wizards show through August 28, 2007.  The gallery is located in the Professional Education & Conference Center, 6000 Frank Avenue NW, North Canton, Ohio. In addition to Kristine Wyler, other "Watercolor Wizards" in this show will be Nancy Stewart Matin, Gail Wetherell-Sack, Mary Titus, and Lynn Weinstein.

Upcoming shows will be at Stark State College in October 2007, Studio M at the Massillon Museum, also in October, and a solo show at North Canton's Little Art Gallery in August 2008.  Second April Galerie in Canton and Mac Worthington Gallery in Columbus will also be displaying more of Kristine's work shortly.
