Wyler Art Studio News: October 2007

Kris has just returned from Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico, where she met with other artists working with Indian subjects.  She also spent time visiting pueblos and speaking with native Americans.  On arriving back home in Ohio, she completed Invoking the Spirit, a 16" x 20" oil on clayboard, with a high gloss finish.  This painting is a companion work to Contemplation, both of which portray a Mohican Indian, before and during a native dance at a pow-wow.

Invoking the Spirit will be one of the paintings on display at Stark State College of Technology in North Canton, Ohio, November 6 through December 14, 2007.  Kris will be displaying watercolors, oils, and acrylic paintings alongside ceramics by fellow artist, JoAnn S. Poulton.  An opening reception for the public will be held Wednesday, November 7th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.  Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. to  9p.m., Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to noon, closed Sunday.  The Gallery is located on the second floor of the Stark State College Student Center.

Kristine is also one of the featured artists at the Mac Worthington Gallery in Columbus, Ohio, during October 2007.

Other upcoming shows featuring Kris's work will include

• Watercolor Wizards at Studio M in the Massillon Museum (date pending)

• Solo show at North Canton's Little Art Gallery, August 15 - September 14, 2007
